Study Aims:
My research focuses on developing guidelines to improve collaboration between drug and alcohol treatment services and imams, enhancing access to culturally competent substance use support in Muslim communities. A key focus is addressing the unique challenges Muslim women face in accessing treatment due to cultural, social, and religious factors. By fostering partnerships with faith leaders, this study aims to create inclusive and effective approaches to substance use support.

How You Can Participate:
I am seeking field supervisors with expertise in:

  • Engaging with imams and Muslim communities.
  • Culturally and religiously sensitive approaches to substance use treatment.
  • Addressing the specific needs of Muslim women in accessing care.
  • Supervisors would support community engagement, provide insights into diverse perspectives, and help ensure our research is inclusive and free from bias.
