I am conducting research on the topic of diversity and inclusivity as part of my PhD research at Heriot-Watt University.

I am looking for professional Pakistani Muslim women who would willing to share their workplace experiences as in relation to their ethnicity, race and religion. Your insights are instrumental in shaping the study and contributing to a deeper understanding of this critical topic.

Study details:
My PhD research aims to explore the lived experiences of Pakistani Muslim women (PMW) in the accounting profession, focusing on how PMW navigate their professional life in the context of their intersectional identities, visibility, belonging, discrimination and tokenism.

My study will seek to uncover the structural, social, religious, and cultural factors that influence experiences of marginalisation, liminal space, professional worth, and inclusion, providing an understanding of how these experiences shape and construct women’s professional lives and identities.

Amid ongoing societal unrest and the persistent challenges of racism, misogyny, and Islamophobia, it is understandable that the experiences of minority groups may often feel overlooked or undervalued.

My research, therefore, is essential for advancing our understanding of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) practices and policies in Western workplaces, with the goal of driving meaningful change for minority groups based on their lived intersectional experiences. Additionally, the study will serve to provide a theoretical and empirical framework for understanding the identity construction of minority groups in Western contexts.

If this interests you and you are willing to participate, I would be truly grateful for your support and would be thrilled to have your narratives showcased in this critical topic.
