Participants are needed for a research study at the
University of Sheffield, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care
Research (NIHR). The VOICE study explores the experiences and support needs of
South Asian women who have been affected by abuse in childhood, with the
aim of improving culturally informed health and social care responses.
To take part you must meet the following requirements:
Participation involves one confidential conversation of
60–90 minutes with a South Asian female researcher, either in person or online.
Support and safeguarding arrangements will be discussed before any interview
takes place. Language support is available in Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali and
Gujarati. Honoraria and travel expenses are offered.
All interviews will be conducted using trauma-informed
approaches, in a safe, confidential setting with a trained researcher who
understands the cultural context. Specialist support referrals will be
available if needed. No identifying details will appear in any reports or
publications.
Please only take part if it feels safe for you to do so.
