Baroness Gohir - Minority Ethnic Women Domestic Homicide Rates

On the 22nd January 2024, MWNUK CEO Baroness Shaista Gohir posed a question in the House of Lords about minority ethnic women domestic homicide rates. The government confirmed that minority ethnic women are over represented in domestic homicide rates at 22% (when minority ethnic population is 18%) which means rates are one fifth (22%) higher than the population.
Muslim Women’s Network UK is calling for a dedicated in depth inquiry to uncover the contributing factors to safeguard Black, Asian and minority ethnic women and girls.
